More Awesome Stuff !!

Its always great to see a new Unity Garden take off . Today it was the Goodwill Garden at 1805 W Western Ave . From Grass to a Salsa & Salad garden !!

Impact Sorts Seeds

A few weeks back we picked up 3 pick-up truck loads of seeds from Feed the Hungry . Under the direction of Dante & Calvin the interns sorted the seeds to be planted at the many Unity Gardens throughout the city . Awesome job !! The list of Gardens has grown to almost 30 this year . More healty food for all !!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Washington Greenhouse . It always amazes me how many people are willing to take time out of their busy day to help feed the community . Its just awesome . " We are growing more than Vegetables Here " !!

More Seed Starting

Friday nights event was a great success. We planted even more than the last event . Thanks to all that came to help out . Next Wed March 24th we are having another seed starting at Washington 3pm to 5pm .

Memorial Green Day

The Unity Gardens had a presence today at the Memorial Hospital " Green Day Event " This year will be the first year for the Memorial Hospital Unity Garden . They were showing a 3D virtual view of their planned garden . Aside from the Memorial Unity Garden several Memorial employees have been proactive in being leaders for many other Unity Gardens throughout the city . Its awesome that Memorial is enthused about feeding the community healthy food !!

Seeds !!!

Thanks to Chuck at Feed the Hungry for donating seeds . We will have plenty of seeds for all the gardens this year . The seeds are being sorted by Impact . We will be distributing seeds to the gardens this week . Also feed the hungry is setting up locations for every one to get seeds .

Thanks to Kim & Bill at Kabelin's Ace Hardware South Bend .They donated over 100 bags of potting soil for the Unity Gardens . Also thanks to Jenny & Jason at J.F.New in Walkerton they donated more than 300 seed staring trays & some seed starting mix . All this will be used at our seed startings , and for raised bed gardens . Looks like the gardens are off to a great start !!

Seed Starting at Potawatomi Greenhouse Friday March 19th 2pm to 4pm

Also we are doing another seed starting at Washington High School , Friday March 19th 3pm to 6pm Please come help !! Sara will be out of town , and I promised we would plant alot !!

So attend one or both seed startings . With over 25 gardens this year we need all the starts we can get .
